USAID awards e-Gov Project with "Special Contribution Award"

eGov Project - Paves the way for modern Macedonia

The USAID-funded eGov Project is implemented by Internews Network in the period 2004 - 2010. Project's main goal is to implement modern e-government solutions in the Republic of Macedonia that will increase the efficiency and transparency of public sector management and open new channels for doing business in an open and secure manner, thus making Macedonia more attractive to the investment community.

The eGov Project has so far developed 11 applications. Majority of them were aimed at facilitating the communication between the government institutions and the Fighting Corruption Through e-Government - online articlebusiness community (G2B); however few are focusing on the interaction between the state administration and the citizens (G2C) or the interaction within specific government institutions (G2G). The work of the Project and the overall efforts of the Government of Macedonia in the area of e-government have recently been recognized by the International Herald Tribune in an article titled Fighting Corruption Through e-Government.(Download full article here )

The process of development of all applications was completely being managed by the eGov Project staff, including reengineering of business processes, modifications in the legal framework, design of the application model and selection of the software developer. The software for every application was developed by the local Macedonian IT companies.
